Women of Light AW19
Autumn/Winter 2019 Collection
Bold and warm colours with a mixture of subdued, earthy and neutral tones are the main features in this collection. The rich-red and burnt-orange tones represent the rising sun at dawn. These rich tones are also a representation of the women who inspire this collection.
“My intent with creating this collection was to see women like me, not even in the literal or physical sense but in a way that embraces their complexities and make them feel like their best selves. A woman who is not afraid of who they are, despite her many flaws and exudes her best self with impeccable style and grace” says Shelley.
This first collection is about a new dawn. The sun always sets and it is assured to rise again, and when it does rise, another opportunity has been presented to see the light again, to try again, to hope and to give life a new and better meaning. This is the journey of the women of light, who represent their own narrative and re-write their own paths for the better. These are the women who show up as they are with impeccable and effortless style and don’t shy away from being seen.
The structured cuts of the clothing with elaborate sleeve detailing create a bold and flattering appeal while the asymmetrical layers emphasised with sheer fabrics are a practical and breathable aspect that is simple and elegant. The voluminous silhouettes are a flexible option which can be chic or casual, while introducing a stylish element with minimal effort.
